Transposed instrument
Transposed instruments like saxophone or trumpet, need transposed notations. We rewrite notations, that the sound will be the same as for C- instruments (piano, guitar, bass)
Bb instruments
When a Bb instrument plays a C, then it is a not transposed Bb, the piano has to play a Bb for the same sound
Bb instrument has to transpose all notations a whole tone or a ninth upwards. When piano plays a C, Bb instruments have to play a D (pedal D or tenor D = one octave higher)
Eb instruments
When a Eb instrument plays a C, then it is a not transposed Eb, the piano has to play a Eb for the same sound
Eb instrument has to transpose all notations a minor third downwards or a sixth upwards. When piano plays a C, Bb instruments have to play a A (pedal A or tenor A = one octave higher)
More Jazz theory
